Mark and Rosie got engaged at the beautiful Mission Inn, in Riverside, CA. It is a gorgeous hotel, perfect place to get engaged. Also the perfect place to have their engagement pictures taken. Below are some of the pictures taken that day. Congratulations to Mark and Rosie!!
Falynn Martinez is a Junior at Azusa Pacific University and apart of the Acrobatics and Tumbling (Acro) team. This is a fairly new sport but super competitive and growing fast. These girls compete in heats showing off their tumbling and stunting against schools across the US.
With this shoot I wanted show the two sides that a female athlete can have. One side being feminine and beautiful, and the other being strong and powerful. She definitely has it all! Great work Falynn!
One of my best friends, John Stewart, got engaged last weekend! Because we live in different states now, I had never met his fiancé till the day they got engaged! She is a super sweet girl and I am very happy for both of them.
A week before this happened he called to tell me the good news. Her birthday was that week and he was surprising her with a trip to Phoenix, AZ to spend the day together and do some indoor skydiving. Little did she know that actually meant a flight to Southern California for Disneyland and an engagement ring!
Earlier that day I was photographing a baby shower. The plan was that right when I finished that, I would get in the car, drive the 45 minutes to Santa Monica, secretly text him to see where he is, and capture the moment. Now this almost worked except I did not factor in parking at the Santa Monica Pier! After driving around for 30 minutes, and John texting me that he couldn't wait any longer, I had to jump out of the car and let Bianca park the car. I ran 3 blocks, camera in hand! I made it to the meeting spot, but didn't see him...at first. I frantically looked around and finally saw them down on the sand about 100 yards away. I had to sprint through the sand, taking pictures in the process, before I finally got close enough to stop and take pictures of their moment.
John had thought I missed him proposing. He told me he didn't even know I was there until he was on his knee and heard the camera clicking. The pictures turned out beautiful (in my opinion) and she said yes. It was great to be able to see it all happen.
